It’s based on your exact time, date, and place of birth, so similar to a birth chart, however it doesn't just map the position of the planets when you were born - Human Design combines astrology with ancient spiritual systems such as Kabbalah, I'Ching and the Hindu Chakra system to produce your energetic blueprint and an astonishingly insightful personality assessment.
